Adavi Myah
Jai Bhim!
We are so excited to present our showcase “Where Art Belongs”, the very first art exhibition in the U.S. exclusively featuring visual art, poetry, music, and more from Dalit and Bahujan (Indigenous) artists. Over 40 artist’s work will be displayed and the pieces come from Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi, and Kashmir. They include fine art students, art teachers, and others with no formal training.
Our opening reception with live performances will take place on:
Saturday April 30
at 1PM EST/10:30PM IST at Connexion in East Somerville
(located at 149 Broadway, Somerville, MA 02145).
We will also be livestreaming the event for anyone who cannot attend in person!
This exhibit has been curated entirely on a volunteer basis over the course of 2 years, interrupted by the pandemic. Unlike other art curators, we have not charged our artists a submission fee and we plan to pay our artists 100% of the proceeds from any sales. We have had many expenses. Please support us by donating!
For COVID safety, we will be requiring appropriate masking within the venue. Connexion is a fully wheelchair-accessible space with single-user bathrooms on site. The venue does not have any stairs into the gallery space, and there is seating inside. While we will not be burning or spraying anything, we unfortunately cannot guarantee this public event will be fragrance-free.
Exhibit hours are 10 am to 2 pm Mon-Friday. Please ring the doorbell to notify your arrival.
Email [email protected] if you need to schedule a private showing outside the normal hours mentioned above.
